An amazing summer & a busy autumn for CISV London…

A successful Step-Up in London

Our Chapter hosted for the first time a Step-Up programme. We welcomed a fantastic group of 15-year olds from Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal and USA! On behalf of CISV London board, we would like to thank most warmly all the host families, kitchen staff and other volunteers who made that a success. And of course A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE for the camp staff led by Fliss without whom this wouldn’t have been possible.

During the programme, delegates had in particular the opportunity to engage with Edible London, a not-for-profit London-based charity which helps feed those in need in London by cultivating high quality organically grown fruit and vegetables and redistributing surplus food from local supermarkets. They combine these elements to provide culinary support to several groups that feed homeless and vulnerable people across the capital. Edible London was a wonderful like-minded organisation to work with. We very much look forward to collaborating with them again in the future. Stay tuned...

New friends and happy memories from Austria, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey…

CISV London travelled the world this summer. Our children and young people had the time of their life making new friends from across the globe and building precious memories. There will be many opportunities to bring this to live this autumn:

  • NJB Day (21 September in Leeds) will be a fantastic opportunity to sing some of your summer CISV Energizers and bring back home your CISV experience. To register, please fill the registration form here

  • Open Day for New Families (22 September in London) Some of CISV London’s children, young people, parents, leaders will share their CISV experience and present the organisation to new families. We invite anyone interested in peace education and in providing their children with the opportunity to meet friends from across the world to come. The event will take place at 10.30 at Resource for London (356 Holloway Road, London, N7 6PA) on Sunday 22 September. To RSVP, please email us at london@gb.cisv.org specifying the name(s) and date(s) of birth of your child/children.

  • Autumn mini-camp (4-6 October in London) We will kick-off our mini-camp season on 4-6 October. This will be a great opportunity for delegations who travelled this summer to come back together and for new kids to discover the CISV experience. Registration is now open at the bottom of our WHAT WE DO page here

Announcement for this year international programmes and opportunities for our 16+ have now been announced and expression of interest are open here until 15 September. For more information contact felicity.edwards-wright@gb.cisv.org
